It’s an interesting one too – more interesting than your average Victorian terraced, that’s for sure. It goes by the name Swarovski House (due to it being created for a member of the Swarovski family) and is a remodelling of an early Victorian terraced property in Islington.

The period façade has been kept, but the rest of the house has been transformed into a modern / modernist living space, complete with double-height spaces and an impressive glazed extension leading onto the garden at the rear. There are also various half levels connected by a timber staircase, with ‘unexpected openings’ offering views from one space to another and a considerable amount of natural light.

As for space, the floorplans show a lower ground floor with bedroom and ‘void’ space, with a raised ground floor hosting an open plan reception room, dining room and kitchen, along with a bedroom, en-suite and that impressive extension leading into the garden.

A first floor gas a bedroom and what looks like the main / family bathroom, while a level up is a sizeable roof terrace space. Obviously, that’s half the tale – the real story here is the clever design behind those period walls, which you can see from the images (more of which are on the agent’s site).
